Location: Rattlesnake Lake, WA – 2021
"Resting Relic" is one of many captivating natural sculptures in Rattlesnake Lake. This enchanting body of water unveils a timeless legacy of petrified, weathered old-growth stumps, relics from a bygone era, which seasonally emerge to grace the lake's surreal landscape.
Within this long-exposure photograph, I harnessed the inherent lines created by the mountain's reflection, deliberately guiding the viewer's gaze. My objective was to craft a contrast between the stump and the interplay of light while providing an enticing glimpse beneath the water's surface using a polarizing filter. Throughout this creative endeavor, my unwavering commitment remained focused on preserving the genuine natural beauty of the location, capturing its true essence.
