Reflections

Reflections

Piece description from the artist

I work in both pastels and acrylics. Pastels give me the soft, slightly out-of-focus look that I'm so attracted to and acrylics have a brilliance and vibrancy in color that look and feel like oils. Recently I've been using a palette knife to "carve" the paint onto the canvas creating a 2-dimensional effect.

Reflections
heightening the colors of this landscape conveys my emotional response to the tranquility of the reflections in the calm water and the saturated colors of the yellow and orange trees against the blue mountain.
