I did a series of water reflections as a metaphor for memory. Memories are very fluid, easily distorted with time and distance. I felt that this painting was a particularly good example for this concept.
A contemporary artist based in Phoenix, Arizona, Ellen Nemetz is a member of the eye lounge artist cooperative. Ms. Nemetz is known for her contemporary representationalism. She works in oil and acrylic. Her artwork is built on self-examination and observations of her own mental and emotional processes.
Ms. Nemetz studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin and Studio Art at Maricopa County Community Colleges, in Arizona. She is the recipient of the League of Innovation Award (2013 and 2014). Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and is in public and private collections in Europe and the United States.
