I love this image because it remains such an important concept to remember in day to day life: recycling. When taking this photo I thought about how beautiful the recycling sticker looked against the brick in its decaying form… would it be taken down and recycled? Would a new one simply be pasted over it? What a shame that would be.
Vanessa 'Venusian' Edwards is a Brooklyn-based visual artist, photographer, and Temple alumna who thrives on color, concept, and creativity. Through visually stimulating editing, she loves to emphasize the aspect of story and human emotion in any single photograph. Her favorite saying regarding her work is "human emotion is a lost art", which is something she aims to capture in every shot. As creative director and co-curator of the New York Art Collective and 1/2 of the creative team Sickly Particular, she is an active participant and driver of the arts community in Brooklyn. Her debut solo show, "She's Damaged" was an incredible success which has motivated her to continue her own creative projects and collaborations as well as curating other group shows.
