Provence Lavender Field

Piece description from the artist

This photo was captured in the small Provencal town called Valensole, France. I took this photo to show how magical the lavender fields are in this area as they stretch in never-ending curvaceous shapes towards the horizon. I arrived at this field in mid afternoon, and waited until the sun began to set in order to capture a rosy glow in the skies to coordinate with the vibrant purple of the fully bloomed lavender. It was August and just before the harvest. I had read of these fields on the Valensole plateau and planned my visit in time for its most robust radiance. It did not disappoint. I know that this kind of beauty is appreciated by all in an art form.
