I captured this peaceful winter dawn morning in the countryside of Ozark, Missouri, just after a fresh snowfall transformed the landscape. A large oak tree stands alone in the middle of a farm, its branches heavy with fluffy white snow. Taken right before sunrise, the sky was mostly cloudy, muting the early light, though a faint hint of pink and purple still glowed along sky reflecting on the snow. We hadn’t seen snowfall like this in years, measuring 6.25 inches at my home in January 2023, so I made sure to get out early, before the wind could shake the snow from the trees, to preserve this quiet and simple winter moment.
