A little country schoolhouse stands in the big open fields of rural Montana, as the sky turns a rainbow of colors on a summer evening. These one-room schoolhouses remind us of simpler times, when the world moved much slower. This little school was where children from the neighboring farms gathered for their lessons each day, listening to their teacher and surrounded by the beckoning open space. I love to think that these little schoolhouses retain the memories of the children who attended all those years ago. These charming simple buildings were the hub of their communities for many years.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
