Piece description from the artist
I captured this rustic peaceful autumn scene along Highway 76 during golden hour in Mark Twain National Forest near Vanzant, Missouri, and I remember being drawn to the way the setting sun transformed the landscape. The fall foliage was glowing with rich shades of orange, red, and gold, creating a beautiful contrast with the warm light filtering across the trees and distant Ozark hills.
The gentle curve of the country road leads your eyes naturally toward the distant horizon, giving the photograph a wonderful sense of depth and inviting you to imagine where the road might take you. Tall brown grasses along the roadside add texture to the foreground, while the colorful trees create a beautiful frame around the glowing sunlight.
There is something I especially love about photographing the Ozarks in autumn. The quiet roads, changing leaves, warm evening light, and peaceful surroundings come together to create scenes that feel both familiar and magical. This was one of those simple moments that made me stop, take it all in, and reach for my camera.
