Drawn from observation during the cold winter of Japan, during a trip to Osaka. It is always challenging to draw on location, but fortunately it was a relatively warm day during that season. I kept warm in the unseasonably warm temperature and sunshine. I was able to draw with a lot of expressive energy, while making sure to take care when rendering the small details of the castle.
