Piece description from the artist
A beach morning glory bloomed along some sea oats grass in the white sands of Orange Beach, Alabama, United States. It's yellow center color pops among the pure white petals. It adds softness to the rugged blades of grass. The scientific name is Ipomoea imperati. They are best viewed in the morning as they close up during the day. It is a native vine with showy, white, funnel-shaped blooms which help stabilize dunes. They are not a true lily, but a relative of morning glories with a similar shape. They thrive in sandy, salty conditions alongside grasses like sea oats.
