The horizon begins to glow with warm orange light at sunrise while standing near the center of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, looking upward at the sweeping cables and toward the city skyline. This striking, curving footbridge stretches gracefully over the Missouri River, linking Omaha with Council Bluffs, Iowa. I captured this view from the Nebraska side, where the gentle bend of the bridge creates a dynamic, almost serpentine perspective.
At 3,000 feet long, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is a cable-suspension design built exclusively for walkers and cyclists. Its subtle movement is part of the experience, you can feel it sway slightly as people jog past or ride by on bikes and scooters. Framed by early morning light and clean architectural lines, the scene blends modern design with the calm beauty of sunrise over the river.
