Piece description from the artist
A beautiful fall season afternoon view of the old Ritchey Mill in Ritchey, Missouri, United States near Granby, MO. It was built in 1874 along Shoal Creek. It was destroyed by arsonists in 1890 but rebuilt with that same year. The second mill was burned down in 1936 and rebuilt. Until the 1950's it was renowned for its water-ground fresh white cornmeal. Beautiful white fluffy clouds float above in the blue sky as a few colorful trees can be seen The bright red water wheel really pops in color against the old wooden building. I captured this along the riverbank of Shoal Creek. The mill is on private property so it's not open to the public, however it does host different events. The owners were kind enough to let us take photos and gave us a tour.
