A stark monochrome close-up highlighting the decaying bow of an abandoned wooden vessel. Positioned off-center against a smooth gradient sky, the composition emphasizes the contrast between raw, weather-beaten timber and expansive negative space. Deep shadow tones accentuate the rusted iron bolts, splitting wood grain, and missing hull planking along the starboard side, creating a grounded, sculptural study in maritime decay.
From the smallest details of macro to the vast panorama of a landscape, with a quick stop off at many subjects in between, Rick's passion for detail and capturing the moment has inspired him to shoot many different genres. He enjoys traveling to different parts of the world and will take his camera, even on work trips. More recently, he has been practicing creating artistic renditions of his photograph.
