Nightmare

Nightmare

Piece description from the artist

A black horse emerges from darkness. It eyes glow red as it gazes upon you. With it comes fear. This dark horse is the Nightmare, the bringer of bad dreams.

The term "nightmare" comes from old English where "mare" was a term for "demeon"; however, I always liked how the artist Henry Fuseli actually depicted it as a mare, that is, a horse, in his painting "The Nightmare".

This is by far my darkest artwork. I had to turn down the lights to appreciated it fully.

Thanks for looking!
