New York Skyline from the river

Piece description from the artist

The famous skyline of Manhattan and New York City is often admired from the ferries plying back and forth to Staten Island. However, the water of the river Hudson is almost always choppy and not very reflective and so it doesn't create as dramatic a view as a painter would have created! So in this image I decided to adopt the painterly approach and create it as I would have liked to have seen it!

About Steven Heap

Morgantown, WV

Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
