Piece description from the artist
A glowing Chinese junk boat drifts across Victoria Harbour, its red sails catching the reflections of Hong Kong’s electric skyline. The scene merges old and new — traditional seafaring culture sailing beside futuristic towers lit in bold neon hues. The brushstrokes are vivid and textured, giving the water a sense of movement and the sky a surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. This is a portrait of contrast: a timeless harbor at the edge of a restless, modern city. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favorite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso. The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.
