I captured this long exposure photograph during the peaceful blue hour just before sunrise at Navarre Beach, Florida. The calm waters of Santa Rosa Sound took on a silky, dreamlike appearance. Along the horizon, bold shades of orange and coral began to glow, signaling that sunrise was only moments away.
A quiet sailboat rests in the distance beyond the boat dock, adding a simple focal point to the tranquil scene. The soft predawn light, still water, and colorful sky created an atmosphere of complete calm, making it one of my favorite moments of the morning.
Santa Rosa Sound is the sheltered waterway that separates the Florida mainland from Santa Rosa Island, where Navarre Beach is located. Situated along the Florida Panhandle between Pensacola and Destin, this scenic coastal area is known for its peaceful beaches, emerald waters, and spectacular sunrises that make early mornings well worth the effort.
