Piece description from the artist
Artistic digital oil painted image of plantation of Mahogany trees on the North coast of Kauai in Hawaii. The original photograph was somewhat stark and so I applied a motion blur first to soften all the details and then the oil painting effect. The Wai Koa Loop Trail near Princeville allows you to stroll through the largest mahogany plantation in the USA with over 86000 trees. These are just a few of them.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
