Monty's Song

Piece description from the artist

Inspired by the joyful and expressive rhythms of jazz pianist Monty Alexander, Monty's Song is a visual interpretation of music in motion. Floating geometric forms—some crisp, others softly dissolving—dance across a luminous, layered background, evoking the interplay of structure and improvisation in jazz. The composition suggests a balance between order and spontaneity, time and space, as if capturing fleeting notes suspended in air. The shifting hues and subtle textures invite the viewer to experience the painting as both a rhythmic composition and a contemplative exploration of harmony and movement.
