Using my experience as a graphic designer, flattening the picture plane makes the landscape more graphic than representational. Seen from above the house could be anywhere. This aerial perspective eliminates the details, the development has been reduced to an abstract representational composition of shapes, color and shadow to suggest the light source to pull the painting together.
Toni Silber-Delerive, a Manhattan-based artist and graphic designer, has been making art all her life. She always wanted to be an artist. Art is her passion. Toni's work is featured in private and corporate collections and has been in many solo and group exhibitions.
