This was one of those rare tranquil moments in life. I was walking along a path near Ka'anapali beach in Maui when there was a break in the trees. I paused, and looked out to see this glorious rainbow in the bright sky, presiding proudly over the ocean. Just happened to catch the picture right when a warm, aqua wave was breaking on the shore. This image makes me feel happy, and peaceful. I hope it does for you too!
Danny Anderson has no formal training in photography, but he makes up for what he lacks in training with a unique perception of the world around him.
From the beginning, Danny's approach was simple; when he photographs a location, Danny attempts to capture not just what it looks like, but what it feels like to be there. In doing so, contrasts, composition, dynamics and drama have become an integral part of his process and consideration while making artwork. Danny is always searching for everyday beauty so he can allow the day-to-day imagery to distract and inspire him. Danny refers to this process as "natural distraction."
