Taken on the same day as my "Underpass" photograph that is also for sale, this was the lock (left unlocked) to the gate at the end of the underpass leading into a torn down warehouse. I always loved the contrast it creates as well as the symbolic nature of it. Since then, I have taken 2 other photos of similar locks under different perspectives.
Gregorio was born and raised in Rome, Italy, and its from there that he attributes a lot of his passion for geometrical- and architectural-based photography. From humble beginnings with nothing more than a pin-hole camera made from a cardboard box, Gregorio has continued to push the boundaries of his black and white photography. His most recent works have centered around trains and nautical work, both of which were shown in galleries on Newbury Street in Boston, MA.
