On the Brooklyn Bridge there is a section famous for its mass of love locks. The night that I experienced the bridge, the light that shone through was lofty and magnificent. The way it accentuated the beauty of these locks, made me wish that I had one to lock for myself. The colors of the locks sparkled in the night, and all the initials marked were highlighted, causing one to wonder about the love that inspired each and every lock.
Vanessa 'Venusian' Edwards is a Brooklyn-based visual artist, photographer, and Temple alumna who thrives on color, concept, and creativity. Through visually stimulating editing, she loves to emphasize the aspect of story and human emotion in any single photograph. Her favorite saying regarding her work is "human emotion is a lost art", which is something she aims to capture in every shot. As creative director and co-curator of the New York Art Collective and 1/2 of the creative team Sickly Particular, she is an active participant and driver of the arts community in Brooklyn. Her debut solo show, "She's Damaged" was an incredible success which has motivated her to continue her own creative projects and collaborations as well as curating other group shows.
