Deep greens and blues reflect in the lily pond at Brookgreen Garden in South Carolina. Peaceful and serene the gardens make one feel as if they have been transported back to another time. A marble statue sits as a sentinel in the distance and the blue sky pokes through the treeline.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
