Large Beige Oyster 1

Piece description from the artist

The Beige Oyster 1 explores the concept of "organic resilience," shifting away from the deep shadows of the sea to find beauty in the sun-bleached fragments found along the shoreline. Inspired by the meditative process of beachcombing, the composition uses a soft, monochromatic palette to emphasize the rhythmic growth patterns and quiet strength found in nature’s discarded treasures. By stripping away bold color, the work invites the viewer to focus on the fluidity of form and the peaceful, silent history etched into the layers of a shell.

About April Moffatt

Summerville, SC

April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
