Piece description from the artist
A selective color version of a group of kayakers glide through the towering orange red sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell in Page, Arizona, United States, during the spring season. The boats are in color, while the landscape is black and white. In the early morning, the water remains mostly calm, with gentle ripples reflecting the canyon’s warm hues. This waterway section of the iconic Antelope Canyon offers breathtaking views of narrow, winding passageways only accessible by boat or kayak. Lake Powell, formed by the flooding of Glen Canyon after the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, led to the creation of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in 1972. Today, this protected area spans 161,000 acres at full pool and is a popular destination for boating, kayaking, and summer recreation under the management of the National Park Service.
