Piece description from the artist
The rugged beauty of southern Utah comes alive in this vertical photograph I captured while hiking through Spring Creek Canyon on the Kanarra Falls trail near Kanarraville. Clear, icy water moves through the canyon beneath towering walls of weathered red and orange sandstone, creating a contrast between the cool creek and the warm tones of the surrounding rock.
Sunlight filters across sections of the canyon, highlighting the textures and layers carved into the rock over time. Scattered trees and green foliage grow along the water's edge, adding touches of color to the otherwise earthy landscape, while the blue sky above provides a glimpse beyond the narrow canyon walls.
Photographed during our hike through the spring-fed creek, this scene features the combination of rugged terrain, flowing water, colorful sandstone, and quiet natural beauty that makes the Kanarra Falls trail such a memorable southern Utah adventure.
