Whoa—that was my exact reaction when I came across this incredibly unique cedar tree while hiking in Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You can see it in the middle. Its twisted trunk resembles the shape of a person bending over, complete with leg-like roots, a rounded form, and outstretched ‘arms’ topped with cedar greenery that almost looks like pom-poms. What a wild and whimsical sight! This unusual tree is located not far from the famous Balanced Rock formation. In this photograph, I captured a wider view that includes a bare tree for added contrast, along with dramatic red rock formations that frame the scene.
