This famous valley and overlook on the Na Pali coast of the garden island of Kauai is justifiably famous! As the sun starts to set, the lower angle of the light really illuminates the folds and ridges on the steep rock faces of the valley and gives it a magical feeling.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot.
