Piece description from the artist
Three paddleboards float away from island in Diablo Lake in North Cascades leaving two on the rocky island. An unusual view of a very famous glacier lake in the North Cascades National Park in Washington State reduces the normal scene of turquoise lake and mountains down to patterns on the colorful background as three paddleboarders leave a small rocky island and, just visible, two people behind.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
