Piece description from the artist
A peaceful autumn afternoon in the Ozarks at Jolly Mill in Pierce City, Missouri, USA. Brilliant shades of golden yellow and burnt orange surround the scene, their colors reflecting softly in the clear spring that flows beneath a small wooden covered bridge in front of the historic mill. Built in 1848, the wooden mill is a remarkable testament to skilled craftsmanship and durability, having survived the Civil War even after the surrounding town was burned. Capps Creek winds quietly behind the mill, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. Today, the mill and its surrounding grounds have been thoughtfully restored and transformed into a park, with historic buildings relocated from other areas to recreate the look and feel of the former town of Jollification, Missouri. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Jolly Mill remains a cherished Ozarks landmark and a beautiful destination for fall photography and history enthusiasts.
