Horizon

Piece description from the artist

This simple building was, at one time, a one-room schoolhouse for children in rural Montana. To avoid traveling long distances every day, communities would construct these simple square buildings to house children for their schooling. A teacher would be employed who would often live nearby and would teach children of all ages at the same time. Many times the group of students would be no more than 10. These small classrooms are where countless children learned the basics of life until they got old enough to drive into town for classes at a bigger school.
