Hope 16

Hope

Piece description from the artist

I took this picture outside of our local buffalo wing restaurant in Monroe, Ga. We walked out the restaurant and saw this awesome sunset that was taking place and I luckily had my camera and saw the flowers soaking in the sunshine. I was pretty bummed about some personal things in my life and this moment gave me a lot of hope that things would get better. They always do get better. This was the start of me learning to find beauty in the mundane.

About Charlie Byers

Conyers, GA

Charlie Byers has been a professional photographer for five years. He lives on a small farm in  Conyers, Georgia and loves shooting small town street corners and large landscapes. While studying Art at the University of North Georgia, he attended the Light Grey Art Lab in Iceland with other international artists. Growing up in a small town, he learned to love the little things and the small treasures of small town life. He gained a deeper appreciation of the vastness and diversity of the American landscape when he drove with a friend across the country his senior year in high school. Throughout his life, he has also traveled internationally, giving him the opportunity to photograph some amazing parts of the world. One of his proudest moments was when National Geographics posted one of his photographs of a tiger on their Twitter and Facebook pages to commemorate National Tiger Day. His strongest influences are Andy Goldsworthy, Joe Greer, and Jared Hogan. His ultimate goal is to make timeless photographs that connect with people on a personal and spiritual level.
