Heron Sheltered in the Sea Oats

Piece description from the artist

A great blue heron stands quietly among the tall sea oats at Navarre Beach, Florida, using the grasses as a natural shield from the gusting winds and blowing sand. Its feathers ruffle and shift with each strong breeze, a reminder of the storm that had just passed through. The bird’s choice of shelter shows its instinctive cleverness, anyone who’s walked a beach in high winds knows how sharp the sand can feel. Captured near the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, this moment highlights both the resilience of wildlife and the raw, untamed beauty of Florida’s Gulf Coast.
