Grains of Sand
Piece description from the artist
Inside the Upper Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona the sandstone walls are dark deprived of a light, but during a sunny day the rays of the sun pierce through the opening at the surface and as they penetrate they reflect off the sand in the air and illuminate the walls of the canyon thus bringing out all the colors that the minerals in the sandstone contain. In this photograph I captured sand flowing down one of the sandstone ledges as if a cascade. This is one of the few sites on earth where such canyons, created by rain during the course of millions of years, exist.
