Goat 2

Goat

Piece description from the artist

In 2013 I received Metropolitan Regional Arts Council grant funding to "research, create and document a body of large-scale paintings based on vintage carousel animals and traditional carousel vignette paintings." I traveled to 8 states in 8 days to visit as many vintage carousels as possible. The resulting exhibition was "Joyride" at Public Functionary in Minneapolis, MN in March 2014. This goat painting (based on a 1902 goat from Trimper's Carousel in Ocean City, MD) was part of the exhibition.
