A dramatic stormy evening sky glows over the towering sandstone formations of Garden of the Gods, viewed from Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Manitou Springs, Colorado, USA. As the sun begins to set, breaks in the storm clouds cast warm light across the red rock landscape while darker clouds gather overhead.
Prominent formations in the scene include the North Gateway Rock, South Gateway Rock, and Grey Rock (also known as Kindergarten Rock), which rise dramatically above the surrounding terrain. In the large rock near the center-right, a subtle glimpse of the Kissing Camels formation can also be seen.
Below the massive sandstone cliffs, a scattering of homes and buildings rests along the foothills, giving a sense of scale to the towering rock formations as a storm rolls into the area during the final moments of daylight.
