Freedom

Piece description from the artist

Freedom” is a composition of two horses running wild together, looking strong and in sync. I was inspired to paint these horses because I love their natural grace and elegance and felt compelled to capture these innate visual qualities. Also, I get excited when I can achieve a sense of motion in a painting, and horses give the gift of energy or action naturally since they are born to run and be free. Another bonus for this composition is the white horse in the front against the red horse behind because the color white stood out and helped create a sense of depth. Finally, I wanted to use soft tones of the colors of the southwest and desert lands, so choose turquoise sky for the background and warm reds for the earth in the foreground.
