Four season 1

Four Season #1

Piece description from the artist

The Four Seasons aquarelles are highly charged abstract expressions of one of art’s most popular themes. Julia beautifully depicts the cycle within the cycle -the cycle each season goes through.

In each painting, the roiling energy starts off in the right lower corner: the paint splatters are dense, highly concentrated and spatially compressed. As the paint crawls up and makes its way to the center of the picture, each season reaches its peak. Erratic drips take over yet simultaneously, they mark the start of the cycle’s end. As the white of the paper slowly takes over, the season dies out.
