Forrest Gump Highway Scene Utah Grayscale

Piece description from the artist

This black and white photograph captures the iconic view down US Highway 163 toward a group of hazy mesas and buttes straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, as seen from the famous tourist stop known as Forrest Gump Point. Located near mile marker 13 in Mexican Hat, Utah, this spot gained fame from the movie Forrest Gump, where the title character stopped running and told his followers, “I’m pretty tired. I think I’ll go home now.” In the distance, the Mittens buttes and portions of Monument Valley in Arizona are visible, while a few cars travel along the open desert highway. This scenic overlook offers one of the most photographed perspectives of the American Southwest.
