This image was captured in the quiet depths of a snow-laden forest in Yellowstone National Park. Forest Bison explores the enduring resilience and silent majesty of Western wildlife against a stark winter landscape. Framed by heavy, snow-draped evergreen boughs and textured tree trunks, the solitary bison stands as a timeless symbol of strength and survival in the high-country cold. The high-key brightness of the fresh snow emphasizes the animal’s rich, dark coat and grounded presence, creating a delicate interplay between light, shadow, and the quiet stillness of the natural world.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
