I enjoy finding little treasures while on my photography trips, and I came across these two primary flight feathers together in a field. Arranged in a quiet, rustic minimalist aesthetic, this photograph offers a meditative study on balance, nature, and delicate partnership. Resting side-by-side against a soft, weathered parchment background, two found bird feathers—one rich with deep earthy shadows and the other bathed in warm, muted taupe—evoke a sense of stillness and an ode to the simple beauty of nature. Subtle textures and distressed tones lend a vintage, timeless feel to the composition, celebrating the subtle craftsmanship of the natural world and inviting a moment of peaceful reflection on connection, freedom, and the quiet beauty in small details.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
