Flowing Through The Red Desert

Piece description from the artist

A peaceful spring afternoon scene along the Fremont River as it winds its way through the dramatic red rock landscape of Capitol Reef National Park near Torrey, Utah, United States. Tall sandstone cliffs rise above the flowing river, their warm red and orange tones standing in striking contrast to the deep blue sky overhead, dotted with a few drifting clouds.

Along the river, small cascades ripple over rocks, adding movement and sound to the otherwise quiet desert setting. Stretching roughly 95 miles through southeastern Utah, the Fremont River is fed largely by spring snowmelt from nearby mountain ranges, supporting a narrow ribbon of life through this rugged canyon landscape.
