I designed this zinc etching based on a photograph I took while traveling through Rome. There was one small fish in such a wide, empty fountain. Light sparkled on the water's surface and odd shadows formed.
Molly German was born in 1998 and raised in Massachusetts. She received her BFA from Boston University in 2021 with a major in painting and minors in art history and psychology. In November 2020, Molly was a featured artist at the SloaneArt Virtual Exhibition. Her work was selected by Beverly Brown, the wife of the former president of Boston University.
Recent artworks by Molly are inspired by mundane moments of life. Molly's aim is to slow down and observe what would normally be a disposable material or scenery, and then transform it into a remarkable image.
