Felton Empire

Piece description from the artist

This is a new body of work I started at the end of 2014 documenting winding graded roads of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Roads are something that take us places, both literally and figuratively, so I thought it would be nice to slow down and take a look at them from a more contemplative and spiritual point of view. They remain very important intersections of the human made world around us and the primeval beauty of the planet.

About Jeremey Bot

Santa Cruz, CA

Jeremey splits his time between New York and California, where he relentlessly documents the world around him using large format Sinar and Nikon D800E. He is always looking at art, listening to music, and reading new things to satiate his hunger for culture and all things creative. His interests involve transcendental walks through Congress-designated Wilderness Areas with his wife and baby boy, as well as live music, third-wave coffee, and plant-based food sources. He counts among his artistic heroes Marcel Duchamp, Richard Misrach, Richard Wagner, Herbert von Karajan, John Baldessari, and Atget.
