Piece description from the artist
An incredible expansive view across Bryce Canyon National Park from Farview Point in southern Utah, where I stood at an elevation of 8,819 feet taking in the vast landscape. The orange limestone hoodoos and unusual spire formations stand out beautifully against the the surrounding landscape.
One of my favorite details in this view is the unusual rock formation in the bottom right with a broad, smooth, tabletop like surface. Beyond the colorful cliffs and hoodoos, the expansive vista reaches across Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. From this viewpoint there is a visibility extending more than 80 miles on a clear day.
From Farview Point, you can also see portions of the Aquarius Plateau and Kaiparowits Plateau. A few clouds drift through the slightly hazy blue sky, adding depth to an already incredible Utah landscape. I love how this viewpoint reveals just how vast and beautifully layered the scenery around Bryce Canyon really is.
