Piece description from the artist
Every Day Strung Upon a Silver Chain is a series based off of observations of street life—the moments occupied by the movements of people through a specific space. I chose urban street settings, dense backgrounds that include building and construction sites, bamboo groves, and shopfronts.
Adrian Johnston is an artist and illustrator in Boston MA. Since his earliest days in Tennessee, mark-making, and movement have been a foundational directive to his pursuits. He has been influenced by both eastern and western schools of visual art as means to communicate and experience stories. Visual imagery in oil, tempera, acrylic, graphite, ink, pigment, pixels and vectors provide means for explorations that are part architectural framework, part fingerprint of the human psyche in landscape, and part play in the physical surface of the artistic medium itself.
