Piece description from the artist
From a series of small acrylic works, based on days on the New England Coast, and worked out in-studio with pigment and palette knife. Whimsical, design oriented impressions of the Atlantic ocean.
Adrian Johnston is an artist and illustrator in Boston MA. Since his earliest days in Tennessee, mark-making, and movement have been a foundational directive to his pursuits. He has been influenced by both eastern and western schools of visual art as means to communicate and experience stories. Visual imagery in oil, tempera, acrylic, graphite, ink, pigment, pixels and vectors provide means for explorations that are part architectural framework, part fingerprint of the human psyche in landscape, and part play in the physical surface of the artistic medium itself.
