Piece description from the artist
This painting depicts Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, in a serene yet powerful stance. Adorned with a crown of grapes and ivy, he holds a staff and pours an endless stream of red wine from a mystical jug, symbolizing abundance and eternal celebration. The lush green background of large palm leaves contrasts with his muscular form, emphasizing his connection to nature and the divine pleasures of life. The vibrant colors and fluid movement of the wine evoke a sense of timeless festivity and indulgence, capturing the spirit of Dionysian revelry. Oil, canvas on a stretcher. Signed. Varnished.
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favorite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso. The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.
