Piece description from the artist

Efflorescence is from my series I Fly Like Paper. Inspired by the John Gillespie Magee poem, "High Flight," which beautifully describes a pilot's experience while drifting through the sky. The word efflorescence has many meanings, but I was influenced specifically by its use as a noun – "the time of flowering."

The forms in "Efflorescence" are in bloom, at the peak of their flowering, and resonate with Magee's verse, "Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of -"

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished white edges. It comes ready to hang.
